Biography
Jianping Du is a professor in the College of Chemistry at Taiyuan University of Technology, Shanxi, China. He received his B.E. degree in Material Science and Engineering and his M.S. degree in physical Chemistry from Taiyuan University of Technology. He completed his Ph.D. in physical chemistry at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He carried out postdoctoral work at TYUT and visiting research in USA or exchange visits in Germany, Singapore and South Korea. Currently, he is a senior member of Chinese Chemical Society. He is the members of the standing committee of environmental materials expert committee and Chinese Electronic Society. He is guest editor of gels International Journal, editorial board member of modern green energy, and is the invited reviewers of many international journals and expert reviewer of projects and award. His research are focused on design and synthesis of environmental & energy materials including carbon-based nanostructured materials, semiconductor nanomaterials, inorganic porous materials and their applications in photo/electrocatalysis, sensors and EM shielding and absorbing, etc. The research group has long-term cooperation with domestic and foreign universities and institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Now nearly 100 peer-reviewed papers have been published, 16 patents have been authorized, and supervise 39 postgraduate students. Two graduate students won national scholarships, one get excellent graduate and one received award for excellent master's thesis of province.

Carbon, Carbon-based Carbides, Metal Oxide Nanomaterials and 2D materials used for energy and environment application such as hydrogen evolution, photocatalysis and sensors.
